TYLER (The Young Leaders of East Riding)

TYLER (The Young Leaders of East Riding) is a group of young people (aged 14 - 25 years) who want to ensure all children and young people who have a disability, learning difficulty or health needs get their voices heard. The TYLER group has been running since 2015.

If you like making a difference to other people's lives, TYLER is the group for you!

Come along to our meetings (upcoming dates will be published below) and meet other young people with similar interests. For an opportunity to socialise, share stories and experiences, make new friends and have fun!

Recent meetings

April 2024

We welcomed three new members to our group and learnt all about the things they enjoy and the education and training they are currently doing.

We were lucky to have two special guests:

  • Sara Ness, SEND Designated Clinical Officer, explained what her role is and how it helps to ensure local services support the needs of young people. Sara will be returning to work with the group on health-related issues in the future.
  • Daniella from Kids visited to speak to the group about mental and physical health and what that means to them. A fun “Time to Taco” activity made it easy to share personal experiences of mental and physical health difficulties. This is part of a national project with the Department for Education to gather the views of SEND young people so they can develop new “National Standards for Personal, Social and Employability Qualifications”
