The purpose of the Local Offer is to provide clear, accessible information about what services are available in the area for parents, children and young people aged 0 - 25 years with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). This is a major part of the SEND reforms which aims to transform the way children, young people and their families can access services and achieve their aspirations.
The Local Offer website is a directory of advice pages and information on services. Simply search for information by keyword, category, location or age range and your results will appear beneath.
The Local Offer was and will continue to be developed with parent carers and young people. Parent carers were involved in the design and layout of the website through focus group meetings, an online survey, user testing, discussions at coffee mornings and parent carer events. East Riding's Parent Carer forum also gathered parent carer views.
Young people in mainstream and special schools helped with the layout and accessibility of the website. Working with parent carers and young people is at the heart of the Local Offer.
