Parent carer support groups

One of the ways you can be supported in your role as a carer is by attending parent support groups. Your child does not need a diagnosis to attend a support group.

"When I attended my first support group meeting I was a little bit nervous, but once we all got chatting and telling our stories of our little ones, I felt at ease and it was nice to hear that you are not alone with it all. We laugh, have a cup of tea, exchange ideas, and yes there has been tears, but the support and information you leave with helps you through the difficulties that we and our children face."
